Two birthdays, a wedding and a baptism!

Within one week we had four big events. Jonathan and Sophie's birthdays, Dave and Janelle wedding followed by Sophie's baptism. A great week indeed.

Wedding and birthdays

Halloween 2010 and Happy Birthday Jonathan

How different can two girls be? One is a cute and adorable cowgirl while the other is scary and intimidating Stephen Dunn from Braveheart. The truth be told, they are both very cute and cuddly and adorable!!

Sophie's first day of 2nd Grade

Dang that girl. She keeps growing and growing and growing! She's the tallest person in the 2nd grade and SHE LOVES IT! I can't say that at that age I enjoyed being the tallest but she wears it with pride and I'm so proud of her. Most girls are planning what they'll wear on the first day of school but as you can see, Sophie is comfortable in her own skin and cut off sweat shorts and old T of Aunt Laura's. I love that about her! I can only pray that it stays with her.

At the cabin.

At the Cabin.

We went to the cabin for the day after lunch in Kamas. The weather was amazing and the sound of the river rushing by washed away every care in the world. I feel most spiritual and peaceful when I'm in the great outdoors. We are so blessed to live near such beauty!

Day two of Granny's visit.

Granny flew to SLC from Texas alone this year. She said that she much prefers it that way because she gets a lot of special treatment by the steward and stewardesses. "I'm glad that this gray hair is good for something." Love you so much, Granny.

Summer BBQ with the Clarks

The Clarks are our most fabulous neighbors. It's so nice to have neighbors that watch out for each other and help each other. They've been a tremendous help over the past 5 years. As their family grows, I know that we won't be neighbors forever but until then...thanks for the chips and tortillas!

They hosted a neighborhood BBQ this summer and this is Audrey after playing in the sandbox.

Granny's visit this year.

Holy Cats! I'm the most horrible blogger ever. It's been since Christmas since I've posted anything and I have a great alibi...I've been busy...and my camera quit working BUT thanks to my Granny, I now have a working camera. Where to begin. Let's see...rather than try to recall the past 8 months I'll just touch on a few highlights:

Twas the Night before Christmas

Christmas Eve at Oma and Pompa's is always our favorite time of the year. A yummy dinner of Crab legs and Christmas Salad satisfies our crustacean cravings for almost an entire year. Christmas Eve traditions include:

1. Reading "The Night Before Christmas" and switching envelopes everytime Oma says "the" and then opening the envelopes to reveal money. Unfortunately we are getting to be so numerous that pretty soon the grand kids will probably be the only ones who can play.

2. Reading Luke 2 while the grand kids perform in the live nativity minus the livestock of course but luckily we have George and Cassius.

3. The grand kids getting into their new jammies courtesy of Oma and Pompa.

Everyone goes home full and happy ready for visions of sugarplums. Thank you Oma and Pompa for throwing such fabulous parties. We love you, dearly.

Snow Cave Camping

Jonathan, Sophie and Izzie braved the cold weather and headed to the Unita's for a snow cave campout. Audrey, Munich and I enjoyed our nice warm house with heat and electricity.
